Press Release Body = South Brunswick, NJ, March, 2007 - Live For Pink, Inc. (LFP) has been named as the beneficiary of the 2007 Chopper For A Cure raffle. LFP - founded by Darla Donnellan, Orla Mejia and Jacqueline Robicheau - is a New Jersey non-profit organization whose vision is the eradication of late stage breast cancer diagnoses and ultimately a cure for breast cancer.
"We were so excited when Design Worx and Bandito's Margarita Factory approached us and told us about their plans to raise up to $60,000 by raffling off a chopper," says Orla Mejia.
"Sadly, we all know someone - a mother, a sister, a friend, a neighbor - who has faced breast cancer. There may not be a cure for breast cancer yet, but we certainly know how to fight it. That's exactly why Darla, Jackie and I came together and formed Live For Pink, Inc. We know that early detection and treatment is absolutely key. We are committed to funding the fight against breast cancer in any way we possibly can," says Orla.
The anticipated cost of all the parts needed to build the chopper is $20,000 and Design Worx will generously donate all the labor required for the build.
During the past few weeks Design Worx, Banditos and Live For Pink have been hitting the streets to drum up some sponsorship.
"If we can get the cost of the build covered by sponsors, then proceeds of the raffle can go directly to the cause," says Lisa Freda of Design Worx, Inc. The deadline for sponsorship is March 20.
The Chopper For A Cure will be making special appearances and raffle tickets will be sold at Banditos Margarita Factory. Banditos will host bike nights from 6 - 9pm every Tuesday, April through October. The Chopper will also make many special appearances throughout the state.
